Relaxing Escape for Romantic Getaways

Selous Safari Camp, one of the older camps in the Selous, is the sister camp to Jongomero in Ruaha and has long been one of the best places to stay in the Selous Game Reserve. It's located on the banks of Lake Nzerakera with each room having views over the lake.  This is an area of the northern Selous that's riddled with small palm-lined channels leading from the Rufiji River connecting the expansive hippo and croc filled lakes of Nzerekela, Siwandu and Manze.  The area is also particularly good for birds.

This is arguably one of the better places in the Selous for game viewing and during the dry season really quite large concentrations of plains game can be seen around the various lakes. The camp has a deserved reputation for high standards throughout - great food here and an emphasis on quality of guides - and has in the last few years been upgraded so it's more comfortable than ever.

Although the camp has 13 tents, it is divided into two seperate camps of 7 and 6, each with their own sitting and dining areas and swimming pool.   They are situated far enough apart (1 kilometer stretch along the lake shore) for each camp to feel completely seperate.   The advantage of separating the camp this way is that if travelling in a group or as a family, you can book one camp exclusively for your own use - with private guides and all that entails.
